Raipur: India is a land of various temples and religious sites. One such site is at Maroda village of Gariaband district in Chhattisgarh.

The village has the world’s biggest natural Shivling, called Bhuteshwar Mahadev Bhakurra. The place is known as ‘Bhuteshwarnath Dham’. What is miraculous about the Shivling is that its length increases by six to eight inches every year.

It is about 18 feet tall and the width of the spherical surface of the Shivling is about 20 feet. Every year, its length is measured. The State Revenue department maintains a record of measurement. It is deduced that the Shivling grows 6-8 inches every year.

During the holy Shravan month, devotees from different parts of the country flock to this site. It is believed that one can get rid of all of the worries by offering just a jug of water to ‘Shivling’ here.
