CRPF jawan injured in pressure bomb blast in Chhattisgarh

The incident took place at Dubba Kunna forests under Katekalyan police station limits while security forces were returning after an anti-Naxal operation in the region.

Raipur: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was on Sunday injured in a pressure bomb blast, triggered allegedly by Naxals, in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district, police said.

The incident took place at Dubba Kunna forests under Katekalyan police station limits while security forces were returning after an anti-Naxal operation in the region, Dantewada Superintendent of Police Kamlochan Kashyap told PTI.

"Constable Gurwinder Singh belonging to CRPF's 195th battalion sustained injuries in the explosion," he added.

When the security forces reached a forested patch of Dubba Kunna, the jawan inadvertently stepped over an improvised explosive device (IED), which triggered the blast, the SP said.

Reinforcement was rushed to the spot and efforts are on to get the constable out from the forests, he added.

On March 30,?seven CRPF personnel, including an official, were killed after Maoists triggered a powerful landmine blast blowing up their vehicle on a main road in Kuakonda police station limits of Dantewada district.
