Raipur: A CRPF jawan was on Tuesday injured in a landmine blast triggered by suspected Naxals in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said.

The blast occurred on Jangla-Matwada road under Jangla police station limits when a team of paramilitary personnel was patrolling to ensure security on the route, Bijapur ASP Indira Kalyan Elesela said.

A joint team of Central Reserve Police Force's 222nd and 199th battalions was cordoning off the route when Naxals triggered the landmine explosion near Matwada, located around 450 kms from the state capital Raipur, he said.

"A jawan of CRPF's 222 battalion sustained minor injuries in the explosion," the ASP said, adding that he was provided medical treatment at a local hospital.

A combing operation has been launched in the region to nab the attackers, he added.
