Madhubani: Two liqour shop employees sustained severe burn injuries after the hut in which they were sleeping was set on fire by unidentified assailants at a village in Madhubani district of Bihar, a police officer said Monday.

The incident took place at Simri village late last night as the assailants set a hut on fire in which the two employees of a liqour shop, identified as Chandra Kumar Singh and Baiju Sah, were in deep sleep, Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.

They were taken to a Primary Health Centre from where the attending doctors referred them to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital in view of their critical condition, the SP said.

The bid on the liqour shop employees was a fall out of business rivalry over liqour tender between two traders, he said.

Two persons have been arrested in this connection.
