Patna: A former MLA of Janata Dal United (JDU) has landed himself in trouble after a video showed him allegedly consuming alcohol despite the total prohibition imposed in Bihar by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
According to reports, the video which has gone viral on social media shows Lalan Ram, the former MLA of Aurangabad district in an inebriated state and criticising CM Nitish for the alcohol ban in Bihar.
However, soon after the clip of him consuming liquor went viral, the former legislator came forward and termed the entire episode as a conspiracy by rivals.
According to Lalan Ram, the video is outdated and could be distorted in a bid to malign him before the public.
On the other hand, reacting to the viral video, opposition parties launched a scathing attack on CM Nitish and called his decision to impose the alcohol ban in the state as 'complete failure'.
