New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday said that the resignation of Bihar Urban Development and Housing Minister Awadhesh Kushwaha over graft charges exposes Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's tall claims about fighting corruption.

"Nitish Kumar's tall claims of fighting corruption have been exposed. Their own minister has been caught taking bribe in a sting operation," BJP leader Siddharth Nath Singh told ANI.

"On one hand you are taking action against Kushwaha, on the other hand you have joined hands with a person who has been convicted in fodder scam. What kind of double face is Nitish Kumar showing?" he added.

Kushwaha was caught on video in a sting operation, taking money from a businessman and promising to help him after returning to power.

"Kushwaha has resigned from the cabinet and the chief minister has forwarded his resignation to Raj Bhawan," Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav announced in a press conference late Sunday night.
