Andhra Pradesh: Youth goes missing in sea

Machilipatnam (AP): A 19-year-old youth has gone missing in the sea at Machilipatnam in Krishna district, police said on Monday.

The incident took place last night at Gilakadindi Fishing harbour when youth identified as V Durgaprasad had gone to immerse Lord Ganesha idols with his friends and family, Machilipatnam Police Sub-Inspector A G S Murthy said.

When he did not return home, his family members informed police. A search operation has launched with the help of Marine police to trace Durgaprasad, he said.

A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway, the officer added.
