The central defender has been a key figure of the red-yellow brigade in recent years and his consistency has been the key for the national side too. Mondal is a rock in the East Bengal defense and his reading of the game is exceptional.

The Atletico de Kolkata player had a good outing for India in the SAFF Championship and is likely to carry on the form for East Bengal in I-League too. The 26-year-old has a calm mind and his side will bank on him for some solidity.
