A six-year-old Pawar Public School student died after he allegedly fell down while playing on Thursday.

Mumbai: A six-year-old Pawar Public School student died after he allegedly fell down while playing on Thursday.

The unfortunate incident happened when Swarang Dalvi, Class 1 student, was playing with his friends at around 10.10 am when he collapsed.

Swarang's classmates at once alerted the school authorities, following which the officials rushed him to the nearby Hiranandani hospital, where he was declared dead.

Dr Madhura Phadke, principal of the school said, "We are really shocked and saddened by what has happened. He was playing with the children outside their second floor classroom when he fell on the floor. We took him to the hospital immediately."

Police have initiated probe into the death of the kid.
