Bhopal: A BJP minister's candid statement on the Goods and Services Tax or GST has left the party red-faced.
Madhya Pradesh minister Om Prakash Dhurve on Wednesday admitted on stage that he does not understand GST.
“GST mai khud hi nahi samajh paa raha hoon, to iss sambandh mein nahi bolunga. Bade bade CA nahin samajh paa rahe hain, vyapari nahin samajh paa rahe hain (I do not understand GST and hence will not talk about it. Top shot Chartered Accountants (CAs), business men still don't understand it),” said the minister in front of a gathering.

“Samajh samajh ka khel hai. Dheere dheere jab samajh jaayenge to bohot sukoon milega, acha lagega. (It's all about understanding. Once everyone understands this, it'll give a lot of satisfaction, feel good),” further added Dhurve.
Dhurve, a member of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's cabinet, is the minister of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection, Labour.
The minister was addressing on the first anniversary of demonetisation.
