Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested at least 15 people who were shouting pro-Pakistan slogans after India's crushing defeat in the Champions Trophy finals.

According to ANI, 15 Muslims were arrested and slapped with sedition charges for allegedly celebrating Pakistan’s victory against India in the finals of the Champions Trophy in the state’s Burhanpur district.

These people were arrested on Monday evening on charges of shouting slogans in favour of Pakistan and bursting crackers, according to police.

The incident occurred in Mohad, nearly 24 kms from the Burhanpur district headquarter.

The police action came following a complaint by a local resident identified as Subhash who alleged that some people shouted slogans in favour of Pakistan and burst crackers after Pakistan handed India a shock 180-run defeat in the finals on Sunday.
