Bagalkot is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka. Voting for Lok Sabha election in Telangana was held in two phases on April 18 and April 23. Bagalkot went to polls on April 23 and counting will be held on May 23. 

Bagalkot registered 70.62 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 1.73 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1700547 while the total voter turnout is 1200854. While in 2014, the constituency registered 68.89 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1565777 while the total voter's turnout was 1078610.

Gaddigoudar Parvatagouda Chandanagouda of Bharatiya Janata Party, Mahmad Husen Mujawar of Bahujan Samaj Party and Veena Kashappanavar of Indian National Congress are a few prominent candidates contesting for general elections 2019 from Bagalkot Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka.

Bagalkot parliamentary constituency comprises of eight assembly segments namely Mudhol, Terdal, Jamkhandi, Bilgi, Badami, Bagalkot, Hungund and Nargund.

For the last three parliamentary elections, the seat has been in the Bharatiya Janata Party's kitty. In 2014, Bharatiya Janata Party leader Gaddigoudar Parvatagouda Chandanagouda defeated Congress candidate Ajay Kumar Sarnaik by a margin of 116560 votes. While Chandanagouda bagged 571548 votes, Sarnaik stood at the second spot with 454988 votes.
