Arunachal East is one of two Lok Sabha constituencies in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh - the other being Arunachal West.

Arunachal East registered 83.52 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 1.44 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 337034 while the total voter turnout is 281491. While in 2014, the constituency registered 82.08 voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 312216 while the total voter turnout was 256268.

The constituency went for vote on April 11 and the result will be out on May 23, 2019.

As many as 27 assembly segments make the Arunachal East constituency and it covers the eight districts of Upper Siang, East Siang, Dibang Valley, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit, Anjaw, Changlang and Tirap. There are approximately three lakh thirty thousand electors here.

The first phase of voting in Arunachal East - one of the two parliamentary constituencies of Arunachal Pradesh - ended on April 11. The fate of 5 contesting candidates will be decided on May 23 when counting of votes takes place and the result is declared. The total voter turnout recorded in Arunachal Pradesh was 66 per cent.

Congress secured a win here in the 2014 Lok Sabha election with Ninong Ering defeating BJP's Tapir Gao by 12,478 votes. The voter turnout figure here was 84.16 per cent across 899 polling stations.

The 2014 triumph for Ering was his second successive win as he had led his party across the finish line even in the 2009 Lok Sabha election.

BJP has emerged as the other most prominent party in Arunachal East constituency even if its solitary win here was way back in the 2004 Lok Sabha election when Gao had led from the front.
