Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place here ahead of the Prime Minister's visit.

The PM will visit Swami Dayanand's ashram and spend around 40 minutes with him at his ashram in Sheeshamjhadi area of Rishikesh.

Modi personally knows Swami Dayanand Giri and would pay him a visit as the latter is not keeping well for some time now.

The PM will also meditate on banks of River Ganges.

This would be Modi's first visit to Uttarakhand after assuming Prime Minister's office. He had last visited the state while campaigning for 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
