Google announces first smartphone Pixel, Google Home: As it happened

Google has begun its big event in San Franscisco. Google has launched its first smartphone designed and manufactured by its own team. It also launched voice-based assistant Google Home that is going to transform the way one leads life.

Google launches Google Home

On the command "OK Google" Google Home can find and play music for you, do search, navigate, confirm traffic condition, tell you the time take to reach a direction. It can send all this information on your phone. Google Assistant is going to help you there when you need it. It will help you to stay on top of your busy schedule.

It can help you in making shopping list, manage your nutritional needs in the shopping list. It can even be an "ultimate arbitrator' in family debates!

Google Chromecast Ultra launched has 4K ultra-HD, HDR, and Dolby Vision support. It comes with an ethernet port, it’s 1.8x faster for actually navigating menus etc.

Google WiFi launched, It will be on preorders in November for $129. Will be delivered in December.

 It can do mesh networking to extend your Wifi, and it can help you get online. There’s also an app, which you can use to be an evil dad and kick your kids off the wifi when it’s time to eat dinner.

It’ll cost $129, or $299 for three. But it looks US only.

Google launches Daydream, a new VR platform for Android devices that should provide easier access to virtual reality content.

You just want to pop your phone in and get into VR. The headset and phone speak wirelessly, and the headset has an auto-calibration feature.

There’s a controller too. A clickable touchpad at the top, two buttons in the middle, and a bunch of motion-sensitive sensors inside. 

The headset will work with every Daydream-ready phone. Pixel is the first, but there’ll be more.
