A bomb kept in a house, near Bhatpara Police station in North 24 Parganas district, exploded earlier today. The house was damaged in the explosion, nearby houses damaged too. Area cordoned off.

India, notably, added over 62,000 COVID-19 infections to its total caseload for the second consecutive day on Sunday. The active coronavirus count in India is now nearing 5 lakh which is the reason why the Central and State governments have taken strict measures to break the transmission chain of the virus.
