KOLKATA: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) on Friday formed a three-member committee to conduct a probe on the four-year-old girl molestation incident.

Earlier in the day, the city police booked two persons accused of allegedly sexually abusing the kindergarten student.

The kid was reportedly molested by a physical education teacher during the school hours.

The incident took place inside the toilet of a prominent school in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, the principal of the school said that the school administration has also initiated an internal investigation.

"We are doing an internal investigation as well. We can give assurance to all parents that security and safety will be given top priority," said Principal Sharmila Nath.

The girl reportedly returned home with blood stains on her uniform and was crying inconsolably. Her mother noticed bleeding from her genital area. The child was then rushed to the hospital, where doctors informed the parents about the sexual assault.

The child recounted her horror to her parents and identified the physical education teacher from a photo. She has undergone tests, results of which are expected soon.
