Uttara Kannada is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka and went to polls on April 23.

Uttara Kannada registered 74.10 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 4.91 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1552483 while the total voter turnout is 1150340. While in 2014, the constituency registered 69.19 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1446295 while the total voter's turnout was 1000657.

Anantkumar Hegde of Bharatiya Janata Party, Anand Asnotikar of Janata Dal (Secular) and Sudhakar Kira Jogalekar of Bahujan Samaj Party are a few prominent candidates contesting for general elections 2019 from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency in Karnataka.

Voting for Lok Sabha election in Karnataka was held in two phases on April 18 and April 23 and counting will be held on May 23.

Uttara Kannada parliamentary constituency covers eight assembly segments –   Khanapur, Kittur, Haliyal, Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Sirsi and Yellapur. 

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Anant Kumar Hegde of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – won by getting a margin of just over 1.40 lakh votes. He had defeated Prashant R. Deshpande of the Indian National Congress (INC). Hegde had secured 546939 votes while Deshpande got 406239 votes.
