Koppal is one of the 28 Lok Sabha constituencies in Karnataka and it went to polls on April 23.

Koppal registered 68.41 percent voter turnout in 2019, a gain of 2.82 percent. The total number of electors in the constituency is 1736118 while the total voter turnout is 1187690. While in 2014, the constituency registered 65.59 percent voter turnout. The total number of electors in the constituency was 1534826 while the total voter's turnout was 1006685.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, Karadi Sanganna Amarappa of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) – won by getting a margin of just over 32 thousand votes. He had defeated Basavaraj Hitnal of the Indian National Congress (INC). Amarappa had secured 486383 votes while Hitnal got 453873 votes.
