 The bodies of the three terrorists, who were killed in an ongoing encounter in J&K has been recovered.

Srinagar: Three terrorists were gunned down by security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag. 

The encounter broke out at around 8 pm at Wanihama village of Anantnag, following an anti-militancy operation launched by the security forces, said a defence spokesman, as per PTI.

On the other hand, SP Vaid, J&K DGP said, "In a chance encounter three terrorists were killed near Anantnag by joint team of security forces."

According to ANI, the slain terrorists, all belonging to terrorist group Lashkar-e-taiba (LeT) were identified as Shaukat Louhar, Mudassir and Zibran.

One AK-47, one SLR and one pistol has also been seized.

Meanwhile, earlier today, militants had attacked an Army convoy at Bijbehara in the Anantnag district of J&K, an Army official said, adding that a man was injured when the forces fired back.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and launched an operation to track down the militants, the official said.

"Terrorists opened fire on the last vehicle of the army convoy near Bijbehara. We retaliated and a man was injured in the incident," he said, as per PTI.

Haji Abdullah (60), a resident of Arwani in Bijbehara, suffered a bullet injury on his left thigh and is undergoing treatment at the Bone and Joint Hospital here, the official said.
