Terror attack on Army in J&K's Anantnag, several jawans injured; Lashkar claims responsibility

Srinagar: At least five security personnel were injured in an attack by suspected terrorists in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday.

Srinagar: At least five security personnel were injured in an attack by suspected terrorists in Anantnag district in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. 

As per a report, the terrorists launched an attack on the CRPF patrolling party in the wee hours today.

A police official told PTI that militants opened fire on the vehicle of the 96 Battalion CRPF at Lazibal in Anantnag district at 8.30 am. 

He said three CRPF jawans received bullet injuries while two others were injured after getting hit by broken glass panes of the vehicle.

The injured personnel have been admitted to a hospital, he said, adding an operation has been launched to track down the assailants.

Meanwhile, Lashkar-e-Toiba has claimed the responsibility of the attack.
