Srinagar: In a joint operation led by 21 Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police, a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist was held in Handwara on Wednesday.

The LeT terrorist has been identified as Ashiq Ahmed.

The security forces recovered huge cache of arms and ammunition.

A Pakistani guerrilla from the LeT outfit was killed in an ambush by the security forces at the outskirts of north Kashmir's Sopore town on Tuesday.

Abu Umar Khatab was killed after the army and police laid an ambush in Haritar Tarzoo village on Monday night, a police officer said here.

The militants opened fire as they were passing through the area early on Tuesday. But one of them was killed in the operation.
