New Delhi: Facebook users in India have a reason to rejoice! They can even access Facebook on their smartphone without any internet connection, and that too by just dialing *325#.
It has been made possible by Facebook India 's partnership with Fonetwish.
Fonetwish is an USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Data) based interactive service which connects devices without data connection.
You would be able to update your Facebook status for free, but for posting on a wall, checking notifications, adding friends, you would be required to pay just Rs 1 per day for unlimited access.
All one has to do is dial *325# from their mobile handset and enter their Facebook username and password, after which one can access Facebook features.
The process uses USSD to transfer information from and to your mobile handset. This service is currently available on limited number of network operators like Airtel, Aircel, Idea and Tata Docomo users in India, and is expected to be available on all the larger ones soon.
