Wreaths laid on security men killed on LoC

A wreath-laying ceremony was held here on Tuesday for the two personnel of the Army and BSF killed on the Line of Control by Pakistan's Border Action Team (BAT) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Defence sources said wreaths were laid on the bodies of Border Security Force Head Constable Prem Sagar and the Army's Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh at the headquarters of the Army's White Knights Corps.

Both troopers were killed and their bodies mutilated by Pakistani troops on Monday in the Krishna Ghati sector.

"A military send-off was given to the martyrs. Wreaths were laid on their mortal remains by the Brigade Commander of the Army's 10 Brigade and the BSF Deputy Inspector General (Rajouri)," a defence official said.

"Wreaths were also laid on behalf of the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Army's Northern Command and the GOC of the White Knights Corps," he added.

Naib Subedar Paramjit Singh, 42, hailed from Tarn Taran district in Punjab. BSF Head Constable Prem Sagar 45, belonged to Takenpur in Uttar Pradesh.
