Hyderabad: The Telangana cabinet on Saturday (December 10) approved new job recruitments in various wings of the government, including the police department. The cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao decided to fill 3,966 posts in various categories in Hyderabad, Cyberabad, Rachakonda Commissionerates, Command Control Centre, Narcotics Control Bureau and Telangana Cyber Safety Bureau, a release from CMO said. It directed the Home department to take steps to initiate the recruitment process.
At the meeting, approval was accorded for the establishment of new police stations, new circles and new divisions to further improve law and order and strengthen the police system in the limits of Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda Commissionerates.
A decision was taken to strengthen the public transportation system and reinforce various sections of the departments in tune with the development taking place in various sectors, including Agriculture and Roads and Building wing.
The cabinet ordered the decentralisation of powers in the Roads and Buildings (R and B) Department. It approved taking up required additional appointments in the department and setting up new offices.
Powers were vested with officials to take decisions on their own during emergency and take up works in accordance with public needs.
A total of 472 additional posts were sanctioned in various wings of the R and B department. Additional funds were allocated for the current financial year to undertake works to streamline the functioning of R and B department.
Apart from these, the Cabinet also gave approval for allocation of Rs 635 crore to take up works immediately to improve the public transport facility in the event of roads getting cut off or washed away during natural calamities.
In addition, a total of 2,591 posts in various wings of the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Telangana Backward Classes Welfare Residential Educational Institutions in the BC Welfare department were approved.
The CM further said that the new appointments should be made in teaching and non-teaching staff sections of the newly started four Junior Colleges, 15 Degree Colleges and 33 Residential Schools in this academic year, the release added.
