Rajasthan: All 15 People Evacuated After Lift Collapse Incident At Kolihan Copper Mine

In Rajasthan, all 15 officials of Hindustan Copper Limited have been rescued from copper mine and were sent to Jaipur hospital for treatment. The 15 officials were trapped in a mine in Neem ka Thana district since last night after a cage used to carry the personnel fell down after a rope broke, police said. As per reports, 10-11 officials have suffered fractured legs while others are safe.

Based on initial details, the surveillance team, accompanied by high-ranking officials from the state-owned enterprise were in the elevator. They went to the mine for inspection. As they were preparing to ascend, a rope supporting the shaft or 'cage' snapped, resulting in approximately 14 individuals becoming trapped, as stated by the police.

As per officials, around 6-7 ambulances were present on the scene. "Every member of the administration is watchful. Everyone will escape safely, Gurjar added. No casualties have been reported yet," said the local MLA.

Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma took stock of the situation. "Information was received about an accident caused by breakage of the lift rope in the Kolihan mine of Hindustan Copper Limited in Khetri, Jhunjhunu. The concerned officials have been instructed to immediately reach the spot and speed up the relief and rescue operations and provide all possible help and health facilities to the affected people. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of all the citizens injured in this accident and the safe exit of those trapped in the mine," he said.
