Ludhiana: A dog, which is a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security, has fallen ill.

This 9-year-old black male Labrador is attached to attached to the security team of PM Modi.

The dog on Friday underwent dental surgery at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) of Ludhiana.

Reportedly, this dog is one of the most prized dogs in PM Modi's security team. 

It has won excellence in sniffing award from Ministry of Home Affairs. 

Also, in the past, the dog had won Rs 15 lakh cash prize which are being spent on his maintenance and training.

The black Labrador has been a part of the PM’s security detail for almost six years now.

What happened to the dog?

The intra oral tumor was invading the dog's tooth so doctors had to extract it and the dog underwent intra oral tumor resection and tooth extraction, according to a report in The Indian Express.

"Had tumour spread, it would have created problems to the dog in eating and might damage other teeth too," the doctors added.
