Politicians, poets pay tribute to eminent Hindi poet Manglesh Dabral

Since news of  poet Manglesh Dabral's demise broke, social media was filled with heartfelt posts offering condolences.

Renowned Hindi poet and journalist Manglesh Dabral (72) died on Wednesday (December 9) at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi. He had contracted COVID-19 and was undergoing treatment for the same.

Since news of the prolific writer’s demise broke, social media was filled with heartfelt posts offering condolences. 

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat sharing a picture of the late poet, expressed condolence in Hindi. 

 

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister and BJP veteran Vasundhara Raje tweeted, “हिन्दी भाषा के प्रख्यात लेखक एवं कवि आदरणीय मंगलेश डबराल जी का देवलोकगमन साहित्य जगत के लिए अपूरणीय क्षति है। डबराल जी ने अपनी लेखनी से किसानों व गरीब की आवाज़ को सदैव बुलंद रखा। ईश्वर दिवंगत की आत्मा को शान्ति तथा परिजनों व उनके समर्थकों को धैर्य प्रदान करें।”

 

Popular Hindi poet Dr Kumar Vishwas bid farewell to Dabral sharing a poem.  

 

Another poet and lyricist Puneet Sharma too shared Dabral’s poem. 

 

Dabral won the Sahitya Akademi Award in 2000 for his poetry collection Ham Jo Dekhte Hain.

His poetry collection consists of Pahar Par Lalten, Ghar Ka Rasta, Ham Jo Dekhte Hain, Awaz Bhi Ek Jagah Hai and Naye Yug Men Shatru. The poet wrote a travel diary titled Ek Bar Iowa while his prose collection includes Lekhak Ki Roti and Kavi Ka Akelapan.
