Mumbai rain updates: Local train services affected
The local train services, considered the lifeline of Mumbai, were affected mainly on the main and harbour corridors of the Central Railway due to water- logging on tracks near Kurla, slowing down train movement, rail sources said. There was inundation on tracks in Sion, Kurla, Tilak Nagar and Wadala areas of the Central Railway route, the Central Railway's chief public relations officer Shivaji Sutar said.
"There is water in tracks at some locations...Trains are being run at a cautious speed and we are continuously monitoring the situation," he said.

The island city (south Mumbai) received an average 95.81 mm rainfall in the 24 hour period ending at 8 am on Tuesday, while the eastern and western suburbs recorded 115.09 mm and 116.73 mm rainfall, respectively, during the same period, civic officials said.

Mumbai rain update: Owing to the incessant rainfall in Thane, a 16-feet long security wall in the Mumbra area collapsed on 4th July. Seventeen families from the Anil Bhagat Chawl have been temporarily shifted to the Thane Municipal Corporation school.

The Chief Minister's Office in a statement said CM Shinde is in touch with collectors of Thane, Raigad, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts. The National Disaster Response Force has also been asked to remain alert. "The situation in Mumbai is also being closely monitored," it said.

A landslide incident was reported on Tuesday morning in Ghatkopar's Panchsheel Nagar in Mumbai amidst heavy rains, informed Mumbai Fire Brigade. A house was badly damaged in the landslide. The IMD on Tuesday issued a heavy rainfall alert for Maharashtra over the next four days, following which Chief Minister Eknath Shinde directed the state administration officials to take precautions and ensure there is no loss of life or property.
