Indian Army's Tiger division in Jammu pay tribute to the Kargil martyrs. At the event Colonel Devinder Anand said 523 soldiers and officers were martyred while 1363 jawans were injured during the Kargil war.

President Kovind will celebrate '20 years of Kargil Vijay Divas' at Badami Bagh Cantonment in Srinagar. He was earlier supposed to reach Drass, but due to bad weather function has been shifted to the Srinagar Badami Bagh Cantonment.

Kargil war, from May 3 to July 26, 2019, took place after Pakistani troops were detected on top of the Kargil ridges. Pakistan had started planning the attack in 1998 itself.

President Ram Nath Kovind will visit the Kargil War Memorial in Dras, Jammu and Kashmir, on the 20th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas. He will pay homage to soldiers and officers of the Indian Army who were martyred in the Kargil conflict of 1999.
