India coronavirus, COVID-19 updates, April 25: Tested more than 5 million people, more than any other country in world, says US President Donald Trump

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed 24,000 while the death toll has touched 775 as India completes one month of the nationwide lockdown that started on March 25. While some states have relaxed the lockdown following the MHA guidelines for non-containment zones, some have extended the lockdown beyond May 5.

The total number of coronavirus cases in India has crossed 24,000 while the death toll has touched 775 as India completes one month of the nationwide lockdown that started on March 25. 

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Friday (April 24) issued order to allow shops selling non-essential goods to open, easing lockdown restriction. This order is applicable to shops in market complexes under the limits of municipal corporations and municipalities, according to an MHA statement. 

Meanwhile, the United States has seen a record number of deaths in 24-hour span today. Over 3100 people have died of coronavirus in the US in 24 hours. The total death toll in the US is now about to touch 51,071 while the global toll has crossed 1,95,000. Total number of coronavirus cases across 185 countries has reached up to 27,90,986-mark.

Himachal Pradesh govt has decided to relax the curfew hours from 5.30 am to 7 am daily from Sunday onwards to facilitate the senior citizens and the general public for morning walks. The state government has also decided to give relaxation in curfew for four hours instead of the existing three hours from Monday.
