New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education announced that the result of Class 12 students will be announced today (July 30, 2021) at 2 pm. CBSE class 12th results will be available on the board's official website- cbseresults.nic.in on Friday.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday (July 30, 2021) issued red and orange alerts for various districts across the country as intense rainfall is expected over eastern, western, and central India till August 1. The active southwest monsoon will gain more intensity in the coming days due to which heavy to very heavy rain is expected in various parts. 

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said it will begin home vaccination of bed-ridden people in the city against coronavirus on an experimental basis from Friday. In a statement issued on Thursday afternoon, the BMC said that the citizens, who are bed-ridden due to various physical or medical reasons, will be vaccinated under this exercise starting July 30.

Additionally, PVR cinemas in a statement on Thursday said that its cinemas will resume operations from July 30 in states and union territories that have allowed theatres to reopen. The decision comes as the country is witnessing a steady decline in COVID-19 infections and many states namely Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have permitted the resumption of operations in cinema halls.

In other developments, Karnataka CM Basavaraj Bommai will meet PM Narendra Modi in Delhi today. Bommai will also be meeting Union Ministers during his visit to the national capital.

India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged citizens to share their inputs for his Independence Day speech on August 15, saying their thoughts will reverberate from the ramparts of the Red Fort.
In a tweet, he asked people to provide their inputs on MyGov, a citizen engagement platform. It said, "Similarly, this year too the Prime Minister invites citizens to contribute their inputs for New India. India: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Friday will introduce two Bills in the Rajya Sabha -- amendment to Limited Liability Partnership Act, 2008 and Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation Act, 1961. Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted thunderstorms with light to moderate intensity rain over some parts of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan during the next two hours. "Thunderstorm with light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of isolated places South, Southwest Delhi, Hissar, Narwana, Fatehabad, Adampur, Mahendergarh, Charkhidadri, Narnaul, Kosli, Tosham, Mehem, Hansi, Bhiwani (Haryana)," IMD said in its tweet at 8 am.

Karnataka: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Thursday informed that the state government is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation following a spurt in cases in Kerala. Speaking to ANI, Bommai, who arrived at the Delhi airport earlier today, said he has asked the officials to be on alert.

"There has been a spurt of COVID cases in Kerala and we have three border districts. We have talked to Deputy Commissioners to be on alert and make stringent measures. They have been asked to prepare medical facilities," he said. "I will have a detailed meeting on this matter once I go back," the Chief Minister said.

Jammu and Kashmir: Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday informed that suspected drones were spotted at three different places in the Samba district. While speaking to ANI, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Rajesh Sharma said, "Drone activities were suspected at three different areas of Samba district, last night.

"The Border Security Force (BSF) also issued a statement that said, "Some unidentified lights were seen in the sky near the international border in the Samba sector. Few rounds were fired on it and the lights disappeared."

India: India reported on Friday 44,230 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours taking the nationwide tally of infections to 3.15 crores, as per the Union Health Ministry data. As many as 555 deaths have been overnight taking the overall tally to 423,217 fatalities.

The active cases in the country is at 4,05,155 while the total recoveries crosses 3,07,43,972. Active cases constitute 1.28% of total cases. The weekly Positivity Rate remains below 5%, currently it is at 2.43%. Daily positivity rate at 2.44%, remains below 5%.
