New Delhi: AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria on Friday (October 1, 2021) warned of the possible rise in COVID cases and said that the authorities must practice caution. “During the festive season, we have to remain alert and vigilant. If we remain careful for the next 6-8 weeks, then we will be able to see a decline in the overall number of COVID19 cases,” said AIIMS Director Dr. Randeep Guleria. 

PM Narendra Modi launches Swachh Bharat Mission-Urban 2.0 and AMRUT 2.0, which is designed to make all the cities ‘Garbage Free’ and ‘Water Secure', on Friday at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi.

Additionally, Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi on Friday. The newly elected chief minister of Punjab can also meet some of the central leaders of the Congress later in the day.

In other developments, the Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) will go on an indefinite strike from Friday (October 1, 2021). The strike will be held across the state until various demands from resident doctors are met. However, the Association emphasised that emergency medical services will be continued but no OPD will be served.

On the education front, Delhi University (DU) has release its first cut-off list for the year 2021 today. The cut-off list is available on individual college websites as well as on the official website of Delhi University- du.ac.in. Students can also check the cut-off on admission.uod.ac.in.

World: Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on Friday announced the reopening of international travel and easing of border restrictions. Morrison said that the international border will reopen next month for states that have reached 80 percent vaccination rates, starting with New South Wales, reported ABC News.

Once released, the cut-off list will be available on individual college websites as well as on the official website of Delhi University- du.ac.in. Students can also check the cut off on admission.uod.ac.in.

Students need to note that the admission procedure will be the same as last year, which means the entire DU UG Admission process would be done online in wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
