Delhi: Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Saturday said that the situation in the national capital is under control and highlighted that testing has been doubled.
Jain also said that the coronavirus case fatality rate (CFR) in Delhi is around 0.5 per cent. "2,914 new cases were found, 1,751 recovered and 13 deaths. We have more than doubled the testing in Delhi, in the last week. Earlier, there were around 15,000-16,000 tests were conducted. 37,000 tests were conducted yesterday," Jain told reporters here.

Andhra Pradesh has retained the top position in the ranking of states and union territories (UTs) based on the implementation of the business reform action plan, according to a report released by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday.
Uttar Pradesh and Telangana were placed at the second and third place, respectively in the ease of doing business for 2019, prepared by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

Jammu: Nearly three weeks after the Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district was reopened for pilgrimage after COVID-19 halt, the shrine board has increased the quota for pilgrims from outside the Union Territory to 500 daily.
"The pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine is proceeding smoothly and picking up pace with each passing day. Keeping this in view, the quota of pilgrims from outside Jammu and Kashmir has been enhanced to 500 per day, out of a ceiling of 2,000 daily, till further orders," Ramesh Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, said on Saturday.

Ending the speculations revolving around the Indian Railways entrance examinations, the Railways has decided to conduct the exams for over 1,40,640 job vacancies from December 15, 2020.
The Railways has reportedly received around 2.42 crore applications against the 1,40,640 vacancies.

The Indian Railways will operate 40 pairs of new special trains from September 12, reservation for which will begin from September 10, Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav said on Saturday (September 5, 2020).
"Eighty new special trains or 40 pair of trains will start operations from September 12. Reservations will begin from September 10. This will run in addition to the 230 trains already in operation," he said.

Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh Police have launched a probe following reports that five people, who had gone hunting in a forest in Upper Subansiri district on the Sino-India border, were allegedly kidnapped by the Chinese military.
News agency PTI quoted a senior official who confirmed the development on Saturday. The alleged incident occurred on Friday in the Nacho area of the district, their families said. Two others, who were in the group, managed to escape and informed the police.

To fight against the Covid-19, the scientists have identified a small neutralising antibody, a so-called nanobody, that has the capacity to block SARS-CoV-2 from entering human cells. The study, published in the journal Nature Communications, suggests that this nanobody has the potential to be developed as an antiviral treatment against Covid-19. Read more here

At least eight labourers were killed and several others were gravely injured after a bus-truck collision in Raipur, Chhattisgarh on Saturday (September 5) morning. The bus was carrying labourers ferrying them to Surat in Gujarat from Ganjam in Odisha. The bus collided with a truck when it was passing through the Cheri Khedi in Raipur. Read more here

A fire broke out at the ICU ward of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Hospital in Maharashtra`s Pune on Saturday morning. Three fire tenders had rushed to the spot to douse the fire, which was later brought under control, no casualty has been reported. (ANI)
