The Congress has lost yet another MLA in Mizoram ahead of the polls. Congress MLA Hmingdailova Khiangte resigned from the membership of the Mizoram house becoming the fourth legislator of the ruling party to do so ahead of the November 28 state assembly poll. With the resignation, the Congress' strength in the 40-member house has come down to 30, while that of opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) stands at 6. Four seats are vacant. Mizoram is the only state in the north east under the Congress.

Hundreds of posters terming Priyanka Gandhi Vadra an "emotional blackmailer" were seen on Monday in Raebareli. The posters which cropped up all around the town over night, showed her as "missing", and said while many tragedies struck the constituency since her last visit, she has not bothered to reach out to the people in the Congress borough where she is seen as her mother's heir. The posters also called her an "emotional blackmailer" and said that she plays with the sentiments of the people only to garner votes.

Rahul alleged the CBI was being used as a "weapon of political vendetta" under the Modi government and that the premier investigation agency was on a terminal decline and "at war with itself". Taking to Twitter, he cited a media report where the CBI's second in command Rakesh Asthana has been named as an accused in a bribery case.

The collector of Bhind district in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh has been transferred after the opposition Congress submitted a complaint against him to the state authorities as well as the Election Commission. The state government on Sunday evening issued the transfer order of collector Ashish Kumar, replacing him with Dhanraj S Raju, a senior official said. Kumar has been appointed as a deputy secretary in the state secretariat.

Besides Panda, Congress leader Subhankar Mohapatra along with other party workers also joined the BJP. This comes ahead of forthcoming assembly polls in Odisha which are due for next year.
On the occasion, Dharmendra Pradhan hit out at Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik and said that the ruling government has failed to provide employment opportunities to the youth. He even accused the Biju Janata Dal government of plundering the resources of the state and forcing people to move to other states for job opportunities.

Senior Congress leader and former Odisha minister Padmalochan Panda joined the BJP on Sunday. Panda joined the party in presence of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP state president Basant Panda. He had resigned from the Congress on October 7. The former Congress leader is a three-time MLA from Simulia assembly segment in Odisha's Balasore district.
