Vishnu Deo Sai Takes Oath As Chhattisgarh CM; Mohan Yadav As Madhya Pradesh CM

New Delhi: Vishnu Deo Sai, former union minister, today took oath as the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior BJP leaders. Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma took oath as the Deputy Chief Ministers of the state. The BJP has announced new faces for Chief Ministerial and Deputy Chief Ministerial posts this time in all the three states that it won recenlty- Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

Vishnu Deo Sai’s name was announced by former Chief Minister and BJP leader Raman Singh during the BJP legislature meeting in Raipur on Sunday. He has a long and illustrious political career, starting from being a village sarpanch in 1990. He represented the Raigarh constituency in the Lok Sabha for four consecutive terms from 1999 to 2014. He did not contest the 2019 Lok Sabha election.

Earlier today, Mohan Yadav took oath as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh in presence of several eminent leaders and ministers of the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the city and was welcomed by the acting Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who also congratulated the new Chief Minister. The Prime Minister, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP National President JP Nadda graced the ceremony with their presence.

The city also received the Gujarat’s Chief Minister, who flew in from Ahmedabad on the Gujarat State Flight. He was followed by the Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, who came from Dehradun on the State Plane. The Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and the Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar also reached Bhopal to attend the oath-taking ceremony. The Uttar Pradesh’s Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also made his way to the city.

Mohan Yadav has also got two deputy Chief Ministers – Rajendra Shukla and Jagdish Devda. Former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar will be the Assembly Speaker.

The BJP swept the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, which were held on November 17 for 230 seats. The party secured a massive victory with 163 seats, ending the Congress’s 20-year rule in the state. The Congress managed to win only 66 seats. The BJP emerged victorious in the assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, which were held for 90 seats. The party won 54 seats, while the Congress got 35 seats.
