New Delhi: A massive fire broke out in scrap godowns and shanties in the Neb Sarai area on Monday (November 29), reported ANI.

According to PTI, a call reporting the fire was at around 6 pm after which some 20 fire engines were rushed to the spot.

The fire was under control and no injuries or casualties have been reported so far. Still, we will check thoroughly once again," SK Dua, Divisional Officer, Delhi Fire Service told ANI.

During the investigation, it was revealed that the owner of the plot Rajneesh Balhara had given the vacant area on rent to the labours and scrap dealers who were living in the Jhuggies (slums). "No casualties were reported and the situation was brought under the control," Dua said. Further action will be taken accordingly, he said.
