Excise Policy Case: No Relief For Kejriwal? Delhi High Court Halts Delhi CM's Bail

Arvind Kejriwal: ED moves Delhi High Court against the order of the trial court granting bail to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi Excise policy money laundering case. In a rather setback for Kejriwal's camp, Delhi HC has paused the release order till the investigation is completed, according to Zee News TV.

The Directorate of Enforcement (ED) has approached the Delhi High Court to challenge the trial court's decision to grant bail to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the Delhi Excise policy money laundering case. The ED requested the Delhi High Court to put a hold on the trial court's order that granted bail to Kejriwal. The High Court has agreed to hear the ED's plea urgently, and the case file is expected to be presented before the bench within 10-15 minutes.

On Thursday, despite opposition from the Enforcement Directorate, the Rouse Avenue Court granted regular bail to Kejriwal in the money laundering case. Vacation judge Nyay Bindu of Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court granted bail upon Kejriwal furnishing a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 this year. The Supreme Court had earlier granted him interim bail on May 10, allowing him to campaign for the Lok Sabha elections until June 1.
