New Delhi: The Defence Ministry has sought a CBI inquiry in the leak of an Army recruitment exam paper, sources said here on Thursday.

According to sources, the Defence Ministry is of the view that the Central Bureau of Investigation should probe the February 26 leak of the question paper of the Army Recruitment Board exam, leading to the exam in Pune zone being countermanded.

"The issue is inter-state, as there have been arrests in Goa as well. Therefore, the CBI should probe the case," a source in the ministry said.

On Sunday, the Army had to countermand its recruitment exam in Pune zone after the question paper was leaked.

A total of 18 persons have been arrested and around 350 students detained from Pune, Goa and Nagpur for the leaked question paper for the Army Recruitment Board exam.
