New Delhi: At a time when Rahul Gandhi is trying hard to revive his party's fortunes after back-to-back electoral setbacks, an engineering student from Madhya Pradesh has now proposed the name of Congress vice president in the Guinness Book of World Records for losing maximum number of elections in the country.

According to the Financial Express, Vishal Diwan - an engineering student from Hoshangabad - has written to the administration of Guinness Books of World Records to enlist Rahul Gandhi's name for losing as many as 27 elections in the country.

Diwan has also paid the enrollment fees for the same.

Although. Diwan has received a confirmation of acceptance of his application, it is still unclear as to whether the US-based organisation will consider or approve his request.

This comes at a time when Congress has faced humiliating defeats in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh and lost chance of ruling Goa and Manipur because of alleged mismanagement by its senior leaders.

Rahul Gandhi often becomes the butt of jokes on social media for his statements and lack of political knowledge.

Recently, the Gandhi scion was massively trolled on social media when he forgot the total number of seats in Uttar Pradesh Assembly at a joint press conference with Akhilesh Yadav.
