Amit Shah calls Rahul Gandhi a liar, blames him for inciting hatred in society

NEW DELHI: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Thursday hit out at Congress chief Rahul Gandhi calling him a 'liar'. Tweeting a video of the Congress president speaking about the SC/ST Act, Amit Shah said: "Lies and only Lies! See how @RahulGandhi fictitiously revokes the SC/ST Act to incite hatred in society."

"Atrocities against Dalits are on the rise. SC/ST Act is being revoked," Rahul can be heard saying in the video recorded at an election rally.

The BJP chief had on Wednesday also held the opposition parties, mainly the Congress responsible for the death of 10 people across the country during the Bharat Bandh. Questioning the opposition, he had said: "When we had announced that we will file a review petition, why did the Congress and other opposition parties call for a Bharat Bandh? The opposition is responsible for 10 lives lost during the protest."

Assuring support to minorities, he said that the BJP government will neither remove reservation nor will let anyone end it. Addressing a public meeting in Odisha's Bhawanipatna, he said that "no one can dare to change" the reservation policy "as set by BR Ambedkar in the Constitution".

Alleging that a "misinformation campaign" had been launched in the media and on social media that the BJP would withdraw reservations, Shah had said, "I want to make it clear in this public meeting in the presence of so many people that the BJP will not withdraw reservations at all, nor will it allow anyone to do so," as per PTI.

Further, quoting PM Narendra Modi, he had said, "We have full faith in the Constitution of India. There will not be the slightest change in the reservation policy as set by BR Ambedkar in the Constitution. No one can dare to change it. The BJP will also not allow anyone to change the reservation policy."
