Zee's education arm to set up 235 centres this year

Kolkata, Apr 28: Zee Interactive Learning Systems Limited (ZILS), the education arm of Zee network, today said it was planning to set up at least 235 centres throughout the country during the current financial year.

The company is also expecting to report a net profit of not less than Rs 4 crore during the year on a turnover of Rs 30 crore, chief executive officer of ZILS Arun Kumar Khetan told reporters here.

Khetan was visiting Kolkata to unveil a new suite of courses called 'Zed Logistics & Supply Chain Management' to address the market trends and its emerging needs. The one year course would cost Rs 45,000.

He said of the total new centres being planned, 175 would be opened under Kidzee section and the balance 60 under ZEDCA. The company had presently 125 Kidzee centres and 300 ZEDCA centres throughout the country.

"We are planning to bring in fresh investment of Rs five crore this year for the expansion of centres and the balance would come from internal accruals," Khetan said.
