Washington, Nov 30: British beauty Kate Winslet has been left so emotionally drained by her new movie ‘Little Children’, that she’s decided to take a year off to recuperate.
The actress will be spending the time in New York along with hubby, director Sam Mendes and her kids.

Winslet revealed that playing the emotionally trouble character of Sarah in the film had been the “hardest part” she had ever had to portray, and that the ‘emotional journey’ had taken a toll on her.

"SARAH is the hardest part I`ve ever had to play. The emotional journey the character Sarah goes on is epic - epic for a woman....Sarah is isolated, depressed," Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.

As for what she found the hardest about the role, well the sexy mum-of-two admits that it was ‘embracing’ a character that was so different and ‘so weak’.

"She feels she lost herself through having a child and marrying the wrong man. She resents the child and has made terrible errors of judgment. The challenge was to embrace playing someone so weak," she added.

Directed by Todd Field, ‘Little Children’ based on the novel by Tom Perrotta, and has already garnered a lot of critical acclaim.
