Jaipur, June 06: Rajasthan police will file a detailed
report on the violent incidents in the wake of the Gurjar stir
in response to the notice issued by the Supreme Court, Director
General of Police A S Gill said today.
Terming as a "national shame" the week-long violence that
accompanied the Gurjar protest, a bench of justices Arijit
Pasayat and D K Jain yesterday directed the governments of
Rajasthan, Haryana, UP and Delhi to submit their action taken
reports on the incidents.
"I am yet to receive the apex court's notice and as soon
as we received it, a report would be submitted to the
honourable court taking every aspect of the violent incidents
that rocked the state for six-days," Gill told today.
The bench asked the DGPs of Rajasthan, Haryana, Uttar
Pradesh besides the Commissioner of Delhi Police to file their
affidavits within 10 days as to what actions have been taken
and/or are proposed to be taken against the offenders.
"It is a national shame when hordes of people are
destroying public and private properties," the observed while
taking suo motu cognizance of the incidents on the basis of
media reports.
The apex court posted the matter for further hearing on
June 18.
