Walking Wounded by EBTG should be of medicinal usage if you`re suffering from either of the aforementioned.
Ben Watt and Tracey Thorn of EBTG released Walking Wounded in 1996 and sat back as the world swallowed their style of drum `n` bass , coupled with the heart rendering lyrics from both the great musicians.
The album was released after Ben Watt overcame his life threatening prolonged illness.
`Before today`, the first track of the album begins with Tracey laying down the rules of the game," I dont need your history, I dont need that stuff, I want you to shut your mouth, that would be enough, I want your love...and I want it now...", while Ben creates the mood with layers of beautiful guitar fills, synth rhythm sounds and the trademark EBTG grooves.
This is the same duo who came out with the worldwide hit "Missing" back in the eighties.
But if that was one benchmark of songcraft and lyricism, this is the other extreme.
Move over next to the immediately groovy `Wrong` , followed by yet another heart rendering single, deceptively titled `Single`, "Do you like being single, do you want me back, do you want me back?"
Some feel good tracks include "The heart remains a child" and "Flipside".
"Walking Wounded", the track is a mastery of electronic creativity flowing yet again with an unavoidable urge to communicate the music with the heart and soul.
Tracey is at the helm of things again with "Big Deal", "
Thats the way I feel", while " "Good cop bad cop" finds the duo engaged in another landslide of emotion.
The album is extremely dance-worthy with a remix of " Wrong" by Todd Terry and " Walking Wounded" by Omni Trio.
Start from the beginning of the album and shut it off only after the last song has played itself out, and you`re guaranteed to feel lighter in your heart and your head.
