When the matter was mentioned before a Bench headed by Chief Justice RC Lahoti with a request to hear the special leave petition along with the appeal filed by the seer seeking bail in the Sankararaman murder case, the court declined it, saying the fresh appeal would be heard separately.

Earlier, the Madras High Court on Monday granted bail to Kanchi seer in the Radhakrishnan assault case.

However, the seer is still in judicial custody, as he is yet to get bail in Sankararaman murder case.
