Sushma Swaraj asks Rahul to do `home work`

Attacking Cong gen-secy Rahul Gandhi for accusing BJP of being "indifferent" towards rural masses and the common man, party leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday asked him to do his "home work" before making such comments.

Kolar (HP), May 09: In a scathing attack on Congress
general secretary Rahul Gandhi for accusing BJP of being
"indifferent" towards rural masses and the common man, senior
party leader Sushma Swaraj on Saturday asked him to do his "home
work" before making such comments.

"Rahul should do his home work first before making such
comments," Swaraj said, while addressing a rally here for BJP
candidate from Shimla (reserved) constituency Virendra Kashyap
which will go to polls on May 13.

She pointed to schemes like Antoydya yojna and
Swajaldhara for ‘aam admi’ that were launched under the previous
NDA regime.

"The Congress leader should also read BJP`s election
manifesto to know about the Saffron party`s vision for rural
areas and the common man," party general secretary Swaraj
said.

Taking a potshot at Gandhi, Swaraj said by travelling in
some remote villages of Bundelkhand in Uttar Pradesh, he
considers himself an "expert" on villages.

"Whereas the fact is that he has yet to learn a lot
about Indian villages, their culture and economic condition of
the people," she said.

Swaraj said the UPA government was a failure on all fronts and
people would observe May 13, the last day of polling, as
"mukti divas" (freedom day).

The BJP leader charged the Manmohan Singh government with
failing to tackle the menace of terrorism, besides being
unable to handle price rise.

Swaraj flayed the Congress for not recognising the
existence of Lord Ram by filing an affidavit in the Supreme
Court on Ramsethu bridge issue.
