Mahendra Singh Dhoni is India`s 19th captain in ODIs. At 26 years 84 days, he is the fifth youngest Indian captain after Sachin Tendulkar (23 years and 126 days), Kapil Dev (23) years and 249 days), Virender Sehwag (24 years and 178 days) and Ravi Shastri (24 years and 245 days).

Dhoni is the third wicketkeeper after Syed Kirmani and Rahul Dravid to have led India in ODIs.

Adam Gilchrist (12) took his aggregate to 1372 against India in 33 innings at an average of 41.57. He is now the leading run-getter for Australia against India, eclipsing Ricky Ponting`s aggregate of 1369 (ave.41.48) in 37 innings.

Bradley Hodge registered his third duck in ODIs – his first on debut against India.

The 144-run partnership between Clarke and Haddin is the highest ever for the fifth wicket at Bangalore, outstripping the 100 between Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag for India against Australia on 25.3.2001.

Michael Clarke (130) registered his career-best score, his third century in ODIs. His previous two hundreds were 105 not out against Zimbabwe at Harare in 2004 and 103 not out against Pakistan at Sydney in 2005.

Clarke equalled the highest individual score at Bangalore. Shaun Pollock had made 130 off 110 balls for Africa XI v Asian XI at this venue on 6.6.2007.

Clarke`s innings is now the third highest for Australia against India in ODIs, next only to Ricky Ponting`s 140 not out at Johannesburg on 23.3.2003 and Mark Waugh`s 133 not out
at Poona on 28.3.2001.

Brad Haddin (69) registered his second highest score -his second fifty in ODIs - his highest being 70 against West Indies at Kuala Lumpur on 18.12.2006.

The 73-run stand between Clarke and Hopes is the highest ever for the sixth wicket at Bangalore, surpassing the 66 between Mohammad Azharuddin & Ravi Shastri for India
against England in 1985.

Sreesanth (3/55) produced his best figures against Australia, surpassing his 2 for 43 at Mohali on 29.10.2006.

Overall, Sreesanth`s aforesaid figures are his second best at home, next only to his 6 for 55 against England at Indore on 15.4.2006.

Yuvraj claimed his 50th wicket - his victim being Haddin.

Sachin Tendulkar, with his sixth ball duck registered his 19th duck in ODIs. He thus equalled Javagal Srinath`s Indian record of 19 ducks.

Sanath Jayasuriya holds the dubious distinction for registering maximum ducks (29) in ODIs, followed by Wasim Akram (28), Ramesh Kaluwitharana (24), Muttiah Muralitharan (23), Chaminda Vaas (22), Shaun Pollock (20), Herschelle Gibbs (20), Shahid Afridi (20) and Inzamam-Ul-Haq (20).
