Los Angeles, Jan 05: US film director Steven Spielberg and his family will donate USD 1.5 million to people displaced by last week's devastating Tsunami in Asia, his publicist said.

The donation from the director of 'Jurassic Park' and 'ET' will be split between humanitarian agencies Save The Children, Care and Oxfam, said Marvin Levy.

While Spielberg's family normally makes donations anonymously, this time they decided to publicise their action to encourage others to give to the relief effort, Levy said.

Local reports said that actor Leonardo Di Caprio, who starred in Spielberg's 'Catch Me If You Can' also donated one million dollars.
