Mumbai, Feb 17: If her claim to fame ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ wasn’t getting her enough attention, Freida Pinto is now hogging the limelight for all the wrong reasons. The dainty beauty, who has been on a globe totting spree and making international headlines, has quite a turmoil building back home for her topsy-turvy personal relationship with beau and now alleged husband Rohan Antao.
Surprised, don’t be? A friend of the couple has stated that the two have had a secret wedding in Goa last year. Looks like, it’s going to take more than media statements from Pinto to break all ties with Rohan. And if her friends are to be considered then divorce is what we are looking at.
Speaking to a news daily a friend of the duo said, "Rohan and Freida were extremely close and have several common friends. Both are 24 years old and were deeply in love with each other. They had decided that they would get married in Goa, which is Rohan`s hometown. They had booked a hotel for the wedding. Freida had given the designer just five days to make her gown as the wedding had to take place in late December 2007. Once the gown was almost ready, Freida also had a dress trial to which Rohan had accompanied her.”
The actress had reportedly told her gal pals that she would be having a secret wedding, as she didn`t want too many people to know about it. Even though the couple was together throughout the shooting of ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, news of a reported break-up started doing rounds since Pinto shot to fame.
As for a divorce, the friend said, “Nothing is clear as yet. Rohan is still in shock at being dumped. He changed his status in the networking site Facebook from `committed` to `single` earlier this month. In fact, Freida was unhappy when Rohan had earlier written `engaged` in his relationship status on the site.”
Well, fame intoxicates and Freida is flying high on fame, unaware that the fall may come anytime
